Robert (“Tulsa Bob”) Lawrence Knight September 27, 1951 – November 18, 2006

 

Robert Knight, son of Orville Knight (deceased) and Alvesta Knight-Cook (deceased) passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday November 18, 2006 following a two-year battle with cancer. Bob was born in Burlington Kansas on September 27, 1951 and raised in the Kansas communities of Emporia, Lebo, Burlington and Gridley, he moved to Southern California in 1982.

 

Bob served in the United States Marines from 1972 through 1975 where he saw service in the Vietnam War. Bob was a Business owner, entrepreneur, visionary, inventor and friend. After closing his Harley-Davidson restoration business “Special Interest Cycles” in Oceanside California he moved to the Escondido California area where he was self-employed.

 

Bob is survived by his son Chris Waechter of St Cloud, FL and daughters Carol Maguire of La Grange, NC, Jennifer Hamman of Hartford, KS, Mandy Kelly of Redfield, AR and Judy Brenner of Vista, CA. He is also survived by his brother James Knight of Escondido, CA, half-brothers Leonard Knight of Missouri, Vernon Knight of Phoenix, AZ, Arnold Cook of Pelsor, AR, Shelby Cook of Hoyt, KS and Arden Cook of Bilonia, AR. Bob also leaves behind 9 grand-children and 1 great-grandson.   

 

Bob was cremated in Escondido on November 21st. In lieu of flowers, send memorials in his name to your local Veterans of Foreign Wars or to the charity of you choice. Memorial Services including inurnment will be conducted in Lebo Kansas and announced at a later date. Please leave your condolences and or stories about dad @ http://tulsa-bob.tripod.com
