Robert was born September 27th 1951 in Burlington Kansas. Bob's parents were Orville "Jack" Knight and Alvesta Biancy Roth Cook-Knight. Bob was raised in the Kansas communities of Burlington, Lebo, Gridley and Emporia. Bob joined the United States Marines in 1973 where he served in Vietnam, He achieved the rank of E4 and was an MP. After an Honorable Discharge Bob moved to Tulsa Oklahoma where he worked for a Door Installation company as an Area Manager.

Bob left behind a one son and four daughters.
